NEWS - Benjamin recently completed composing new ballet for Rambert Dance Company - Cardoon Club - premiere in the autumn......also produces recording of new work by Tobias Picker....Ben’s arrangements provide the music for new BA shuttle at Gatwick Airport....receives great reviews following debut with Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and an invitation to return to the Grand Théâtre to work with them again.....returning to Amsterdam in the autumn for performances of Gorecki, Schnittke and a world premiere of a new Nico Muhly composition....recently in the studio at Angel with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra....Benjamin looking forward to summer performances with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in London....Benjamin also in Tokyo with acclaimed performances of Delibes’ Sylvia which was followed by multiple performances of Bach/Martin/Stravinsky with the Holland Symfonia and Dutch National....before that in Antwerp and Ghent conducting Tchaikovsky, Britten and a world premiere and recording of a new Gavin Bryars score “The Third Light”, with The Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra; other projects last season included visits to Amsterdam conducting Ted Brandsen’s new reworking of Coppelia, and also delighted to have returned to Matthew Bourne’s iconic Swan Lake at Sadler’s Wells.....also visits to Osaka and Tokyo following critically acclaimed performances at Edinburgh International Festival 2009 with Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Elin Manahan Thomas and Royal Ballet of Flanders....

One of Europe’s foremost conductors for ballet, Benjamin has worked extensively with companies throughout the world including The Royal Ballet (both at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and on their international tours), New York CIty Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Staatsballett Berlin, Norwegian National Ballet, English National Ballet, Rambert Dance Company, Dutch National Ballet, and has received invitations from many more. A long-time collaborator with Matthew Bourne, Benjamin has conducted many of his productions including the award-winning Swan Lake and has been Music Director for The Car Man, Edward Scissorhands, and Play Without Words, for which Benjamin directed Terry Davies’ jazz score from the piano in the UK and Los Angeles. Benjamin Pope is also known as Ben Pope.
